Pinhole photography / collages
2020
These images were created during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Terrible news, uncertainty, and apocalyptic scenarios dominated public and private discourse. One of the many anxieties was the shortage of materials due to supply chain disruptions.
Last but not least, some feared there would be no more film produced, potentially signaling the end of analog photography. I created these collages using a self-made pinhole camera and then combined them with my older analog photos.
A year later, these photo collages served as inspiration for Polish-German writer Ewa Maria Slaska, who wrote a short story based on these images. The title of her story became the title for these photos: I could never sleep when the moon was full.
